Security Officer Certification Course (NJ)

A requirement in the state of NJ under SORA (Security Officer Registration Act), SBI provides a twenty-four (24) hour certification course, as well as an eight (8) hour refresher course, consisting of instruction in:

• Homeland Security and Counter Terrorism.
• Communications and Emergency Response.
• Theft Prevention.
• Limits on the Use of Force.
• Detention of Suspects.
• Ethics and professional conduct.
• First aid, CPR and AED.
• Instruction on site specific materials when required.
• Any other subject matters that the Superintendent of the State Police determines necessary in the interest of public safety.
